1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a great option for those looking for an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but don't mind having to empty their dust bin manually as it gets full.
Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors and they're excellent in getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean efficiently. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we tested the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can get stuck on things such as power cords or socks, and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces, such as from hardwood to rug.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including clearing out any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dustbin and filter clean so they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and takes about three hours to recharge.
2. iRobot i7+ Roomba
The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most crucial feature of all -- it comes with an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot through the app or by voice.
In our testing the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our top choice, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin that eliminates major sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and move around the room, and even vacuum the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After being connected, to voice commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world filled with vacuums that are cordless and look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like a sports car. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households, but it also fits in well next to the coffee table or the bookshelf, where you can move it around like an enchanted device.

This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeable superior on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums, the 694 is an affordable model that's a great option for those who don't want to invest too much on a robotic. It's capable of sucking up most kinds of debris in our tests, and often passes over the same areas many times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it reach into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice touch.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models such as our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It may get stuck on phone cords or furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways, as it has fewer components that need regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges quicker.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips and can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels more sturdy and has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on both bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as offering a wider range of features for automation.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86 percent of it. However, it did not do particularly well at avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks which was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than some of the other models we tested, which might be a problem for some buyers.
The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible via the app. You can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. The app also makes it easy to steer the robot manually if needed. For example, my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that can trip up some of the other robots I've tested. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, but it didn't register it as an incline. And the ability to create a weekly cleaning schedule is a fantastic time-saving feature.
